Vescent Cut Manual Data Entry by 30% After Connecting Salesforce to Acumatica using Commercient

Vescent is a Golden, Colorado-based manufacturer of precision laser systems, frequency combs, and laser control electronics used in quantum technology, optical clocks, and cold atom science applications. Challenge

Before Sync, Vescent's sales team had to manually move opportunity data out of Salesforce, the CRM its reps were already comfortable working in, and re-enter it into Acumatica, the ERP the company uses to create and process sales orders. Every new contact, account, and item a customer wanted had to be duplicated by hand between the two systems, which ate into the hours reps could spend actually processing and delivering orders.

That manual work slowed down order turnaround time for Vescent's customers and pulled the team's attention away from higher-value work, like connecting with customers and gathering their feedback.

Solution

Commercient built a Sync integration between Vescent's Salesforce CRM and Acumatica ERP, automatically moving opportunity and order data between the two systems instead of requiring reps to re-key it. Commercient manages the technical work of keeping the two systems connected, so Vescent's team doesn't have to build in-house expertise on that integration just to keep it running.

Sync primarily moves data from Salesforce into Acumatica, with select information syncing back the other direction as well, so both teams work from consistent, up-to-date records.

Commercient handles the entire back end of connecting our ERP system, so that we don't have to worry about learning about or getting up to speed on such highly technical new skills to do that ourselves. By taking that completely off our plate, it allows us to focus on our core aspects of our business.

Results

Vescent estimates Sync saves its team at least 30 percent of the time it used to spend manually moving information, such as new contacts, new accounts, and order items, between Salesforce and Acumatica. That time back has let the sales team focus more on core, revenue-generating work like customer conversations and getting orders processed and delivered on time, while reducing overall turnaround time for customers.

Vescent's leadership, who had prior ties to people at Commercient, says that relationship of established trust paid off, and that choosing Commercient has worked out very well for the business.

Our leadership has some prior ties to folks at Commercient. That relationship of established trust meant that when they said this was a company that could save us time and resources, we took the leap, and it has worked out very well.
