Challenge

Valley Grinding & Manufacturing needed to move its inside and outside sales teams to a more powerful, high-level CRM that could handle email, call logs, quotes, and historical customer data in one place. The sales team also needed to access data from Epicor 10 without logging into the ERP directly.

The company was also concerned about whether that much Epicor 10 data could even be synced into a CRM successfully, given how large and complex the dataset was.

Solution

Valley Grinding & Manufacturing moved to Salesforce, the world's leading cloud-based CRM, to give its sales teams a more robust platform for managing emails, quotes, call logs, and historical data, along with Salesforce Inbox and Outlook integration. To bring their Epicor 10 data into that new CRM and drive stronger Salesforce adoption, the company chose Commercient SYNC, the number one data integration platform for sales.

SYNC now delivers customer information, sales history, invoicing, multiple ship-to addresses, serial numbers invoiced, terms, and salesperson names from Epicor 10 directly into Salesforce, with a second, bi-directional phase that syncs new and updated accounts created in Salesforce back to Epicor 10.

The data integration allows our sales team to be successful in Salesforce.

Results

Despite their initial concerns about syncing such a large volume of data, Valley Grinding & Manufacturing found that Commercient SYNC worked well from the start, and the company has now been through two phases of SYNC without any crashing or barriers along the way. Inside and outside sales teams can access Epicor 10 data directly in Salesforce, giving them a 360-degree view of sales and helping them be more successful in the CRM.

The bi-directional sync between Salesforce and Epicor 10 has also helped the company avoid double data entry, keeping both systems accurate without extra manual work.

We were afraid we couldn't sync Epicor 10 to Salesforce. We were skeptical, because it's a lot of data, but Commercient SYNC worked very well. We've been through two phases of SYNC, and we haven't had any issues, no crashing and no barriers. It's been good.
