Challenge
TeraXion was relying on a previous CRM that wasn't built to handle the pace and complexity of the business, making it difficult to manage opportunities, customers, and leads as the company grew. Sales forecasting was especially painful, with the team's forecast for the coming year taking roughly 120 hours of manual work to put together.
On top of that, the financial and operational data the company depended on lived in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and stayed siloed there, cut off from whatever CRM the sales team was using, so reps had no direct way to see customer order history, accounting records, or inventory while working a deal.
Solution
TeraXion replaced its previous CRM with Salesforce Enterprise, the leading CRM in the world, to modernize its sales processes and improve how it managed opportunities, customers, and leads. To connect that new CRM to its Microsoft Dynamics NAV system, TeraXion worked with Commercient to implement SYNC, the number one data integration platform for sales.
SYNC now brings customer information, accounting records, invoicing, orders, multiple ship-to addresses, serial numbers, item master data, inventory, quotes with bill of materials, contacts, RMA details, and shipment information directly into Salesforce. A second phase of SYNC also sends new and updated accounts, sales orders, quotes, contacts, opportunities, RMAs, and tracking information created in Salesforce back to Dynamics NAV.
Commercient helps us stay ahead of the competition by having our ERP talk with Salesforce. The data is laid more intuitively in Salesforce vs. our ERP, because we can work with it and modify it. They can see what a customer ordered before, historical data, and it has a quickness to the process. Our sales team really appreciates it.
Results
With Salesforce now in place, TeraXion cut its annual sales forecasting from 120 hours down to just 12. Having Dynamics NAV data available directly in Salesforce, laid out more intuitively than in the ERP, lets the sales team see a customer's order history and other details quickly, and the team has responded well to the added speed.
Because Salesforce data now syncs back to Dynamics NAV automatically, a salesperson can create a sales order in Salesforce without entering it a second time in the ERP, saving time and giving the operations team access to that Salesforce data as well.
A salesperson creates a sales order in Salesforce, and they don't have to do the entry twice, it just creates it in NAV after the SYNC, which saves us time. The Salesforce data is also available for the operational team in the ERP.
