Surestep Skipped Custom Development and Connected Epicor 10 to Salesforce with Commercient Instead

Its products use a patented compression principle and lightweight, flexible materials to help kids achieve a more natural walking motion and a wider range of movement.

Challenge

Surestep's existing CRM module wasn't robust enough to manage the company's growing volume of opportunities and leads, so the team needed to move to a more capable system. At the same time, the sales team had no easy way to see the sales and product history sitting in their Epicor 10 ERP system, which made it difficult to get a full picture of customers and how specific products were performing over time.

Without a cost-effective way to connect the two systems, Surestep risked either living without that visibility or taking on an expensive custom development project just to get accounting and sales order data in front of the people who needed it.

Solution

Surestep implemented Salesforce Enterprise to modernize how they managed opportunities and leads, then turned to Commercient SYNC, the number one data integration platform for sales, to connect Epicor 10 to their new Salesforce org. SYNC brings over customer information, sales order history, product sales history, invoicing, multiple ship-to addresses, and inventory data, all synced directly into Salesforce.

Rather than building a custom integration, Surestep found Commercient's solution available virtually off the shelf, giving them an easier and less costly way to put ERP data directly into their sales team's hands.

Commercient was available, virtually off the shelf, and it's certainly an easier and less costly method than going the custom development route.

Results

With Epicor 10 data flowing into Salesforce, Surestep's sales team now has a complete picture of sales and customers in one place. The company can monitor year-over-year and quarter-over-quarter sales history for both individual customers and specific products, so if a customer starts ordering less or a product's sales begin to slip, the team can spot it quickly and investigate.

The integration also gives Surestep's sales reps better reports they can use in the field, helping them drive more value from their time and prioritize the accounts and products that need attention.

It makes it easier to put the data into our sales team's hands.
