StemCyte’s Sales Team Cut Out the Accounting Phone Calls with Commercient’s Sage 100 + Salesforce Integration
StemCyte is a global cord blood therapeutics company that collects, processes, and stores a newborn's umbilical cord blood and tissue for future medical treatment and research. Based in Baldwin Park, California with operations in Taiwan and India, it is the only private cord blood bank of its kind in the country and also runs a public bank that supports research benefiting the wider community.

Challenge
Before integrating their systems, StemCyte's sales team had to call the accounting department every time an existing customer wanted to add storage, such as when a family welcomed a new baby and wanted to store or donate cord blood and tissue. Accounting then had to search through Sage 100 to locate the customer's account and payment history and relay it back to sales, adding delay to what should have been a quick transaction.
Because the sales team couldn't see a customer's current account balance on their own, closing even a routine repeat sale took longer than it needed to, and pulling reports that combined accounting data from Sage 100 with the sales side of the business was similarly time-consuming.
Solution
StemCyte turned to Commercient SYNC, the number one data integration platform for business, to connect their Sage 100 accounting system with Salesforce Enterprise. SYNC runs a one-way integration from Sage 100 to Salesforce twice a day, bringing customer accounts, accounting records, billing details, and even Sage 100 comment fields from invoices directly into Salesforce.
This gave the sales team access to important accounting data from the very first day they started using their Salesforce org, rather than waiting to build up history over time.
With SYNC, our salespeople can see the customer information and accounting records, altogether.
Results
With SYNC in place, StemCyte's salespeople can now see a customer's account and accounting information together inside Salesforce, instantly, without picking up the phone to call accounting. That instant access cut a huge part of the sales process for existing customers, especially when a customer calls to add storage for a new baby.
The integration also helped drive strong user adoption of the new Salesforce org, since the sales team had meaningful account data available from day one, and it gave StemCyte the ability to generate reports using their Sage 100 accounting information directly within Salesforce.
That cut a huge part of the sales process for existing customers.
