Challenge
Republic Manufacturing needed a more powerful CRM to modernize its sales process, so the company implemented Salesforce Enterprise along with CPQ, Pardot, Chatter, and Service Cloud to better manage customers, opportunities, sales, and marketing. Even with that new CRM in place, data between Salesforce and the company's Sage 100 ERP system remained siloed, and the business also needed a way to send specific data created in the CRM back into the ERP rather than relying on it flowing in only one direction.
Solution
Republic Manufacturing worked with Commercient to implement SYNC, connecting Sage 100 to Salesforce Enterprise so customer information, sales order history, invoicing, multi-ship addresses, quotes, inventory availability, and salesperson names flow directly into the CRM. Commercient's two-way SYNC also pushes new accounts and sales orders created in Salesforce back to Sage 100, keeping both systems in step without manual re-entry.
It's been a real lifesaver for us, and a much cleaner process. It has reduced errors, in the sense that the information that was quoted is now being pushed to the order. So there's no need to reinterpret what was quoted.
Results
With ERP and CRM data connected, Republic's sales and marketing teams can see Sage 100 information inside Salesforce in real time and act on it far more easily than before, including syncing that data with CPQ and Pardot rather than treating it as a simple records repository. Because quoted information now flows directly into the order, the company no longer needs to reinterpret what was quoted, cutting down on errors and giving Republic a fuller view of sales, customers, and marketing.
We've taken it beyond just a records keeping piece by having it SYNC'd with CPQ and Pardot. Our sales and marketing teams can see the ERP information in Salesforce, in real-time, and also act on the data a lot easier than we used to.
