Challenge

OTTO Engineering had been using parts of its ERP as a makeshift CRM, but needed a dedicated, modern sales system. The company implemented Salesforce Enterprise, but for the sales team to create accurate quotes directly in Salesforce, that CRM had to mirror pricing, order, and inventory data that lived in Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine), the company's ERP system, which remained disconnected from Salesforce.

Solution

OTTO worked with CrossPeak Solutions as its implementation consultant and chose Commercient SYNC, the number one data integration platform for sales, to connect Infor CloudSuite Industrial to Salesforce Enterprise. Customer information, order history, invoicing, contract and dealer pricing, discounts, serial numbers invoiced, multi-ship addresses, salesperson names, order line items, and invoice line items now sync directly from the ERP into Salesforce.

In order for them to quote out of Salesforce, it would have to mimic what their ERP does.

Results

OTTO's sales team can now quote directly out of Salesforce with pricing that mirrors the ERP, and track order status for split orders, where part of a quantity ships from stock while the rest is manufactured. Commercient plans to add a bi-directional SYNC so new accounts, orders, and bills of materials created in Salesforce integrate back to Infor CloudSuite Industrial, saving time and avoiding double data entry.

That is where their orders and important data live, so we had to get Commercient to migrate that data.
