Customer Success Story

MPD Gets a Single Pane of Glass Into Sales and Service Activity with Commercient’s Epicor 10 and Salesforce Integration

MPD Inc. was established in 1987 and is headquartered in Owensboro, Kentucky, as an employee stock ownership plan company made up of primarily eight wholly owned subsidiaries. The company manufactures products, instruments, and devices used by U.S. and foreign military services and their contractors, avionics manufacturers, law enforcement organizations, and industrial and commercial companies worldwide.

Challenge

MPD needed to unify its ERP and CRM systems company-wide, replacing an aging mainframe with Epicor 10 while also improving how it managed prospects and sales. The company wanted its sales team, both internally and out in the field, to work solely in Salesforce, but without a connection to Epicor 10, the team would have had to switch between systems to see customer and sales history.

Solution

MPD implemented Epicor 10 and Salesforce Enterprise, then connected the two systems with Commercient SYNC, the number one data integration platform for sales. Customer information, sales history, invoicing, serial numbers, price levels, item master, contacts, inventory, and more now sync from Epicor 10 directly into Salesforce, and Commercient's Phase 2 SYNC pushes new quotes, quotes won, and accounts created in Salesforce back to Epicor 10.

Salesforce gives us a 'single pane of glass' with access to Epicor 10 data, like customer notes of the sales history, all the active quotations, things of that nature.

Results

MPD's sales team can now work entirely in Salesforce, using it as a single pane of glass into Epicor 10 data like customer notes, sales history, and active quotations. The team gets a 360-degree view of each customer, from what they bought last year to whether any units are in for repair, giving them a complete picture from both a sales and customer service perspective.

Our sales team can quickly look at Salesforce, and get a very broad picture of sales activity and customer service activity, thanks to SYNC.
