Actual vs. Estimated Costs
Now visible in Salesforce thanks to synced Sage 50 invoicing data

Challenge

Flow Tech relied on Sage 50 for its operations and finance, and worked with the Integrated Marketing Group to replace its previous CRM with Salesforce Enterprise. With the old CRM, the team had to manually mark jobs as invoiced or paid and manually move data between the ERP and CRM, a process that was inefficient and led to missed entries and double data work.

Solution

Flow Tech worked with Commercient to implement SYNC, connecting Sage 50 to Salesforce Enterprise. Customer information, accounting records, sales orders, invoicing, price levels, item master, inventory, and serial number data now sync from Sage 50 directly into Salesforce, and new and updated accounts and sales orders created in Salesforce sync back to Sage 50.

SYNC gets rid of double data work and missed entries. And with our old CRM, we had to manually mark a job as invoiced or paid, or just check values. Commercient automates that for us.

Results

With Commercient automating what used to be manual invoice and payment checks, Flow Tech has eliminated double data work and missed entries. The synced Sage 50 invoicing data also lets the team compare actual costs to estimated costs directly in Salesforce, and Flow Tech plans to expand the integration further by syncing Sage inventory items to Salesforce orders.

We want to be able to see actual costs vs. our estimated costs, and the Sage 50 invoicing data Commercient is SYNCing to Salesforce will allow us to do that.
