Challenge
Capsmith wanted its B2B wholesale clients to have an online buying experience closer to what B2C shoppers get, but its previous eCommerce solution wasn't connected to Sage 100. Without that link, Angel Santos had to manually upload a new inventory sheet to the site every day, and any customer or order created online had no way to make it into Sage 100 without being entered again by hand.
Solution
Capsmith replaced its previous eCommerce platform with Shopify and brought in Commercient SYNC to connect it to Sage 100. SYNC pushes customers, products, prices, and inventory from Sage 100 into Shopify, and any new accounts, orders, and payment information created on the Shopify site sync back to Sage 100 automatically.
SYNC ensures any new customers that are in Sage are also registered on the website via Shopify. It also keeps me from having to upload a new inventory sheet to Shopify every day. That's really time consuming.
Results
New customers added in Sage are automatically registered on Capsmith's website through Shopify, and Angel no longer has to manually upload a new inventory sheet every day, a task she describes as really time consuming. When a customer creates a new account on the site and places an order, that information syncs over and automatically creates a matching customer record in Sage, along with the order and inventory update, eliminating the double data entry that used to come with running two separate systems.
If a customer creates a brand new account on our website and places a new order, the info is SYNC'd and automatically creates a new customer in Sage. It also SYNC's the orders into that customer's P.O.'s and the inventory.
