How Allied Industrial Sales Connected Sage to Salesforce with Commercient
Allied Industrial Sales is an industrial parts distributor that serves customers through both inside and outside sales teams, supported by its own delivery fleet. The company handles everything from quoting and order fulfillment to vendor purchasing and customer delivery across a large service territory.

Challenge
Before working with Commercient, Allied Industrial Sales' outside sales team tracked every lead and quote on handwritten documents or Excel spreadsheets that reps filled out and turned in on their own. There was no built-in accountability or timeline, so reps often didn't know when a quote qualified for action or how much time they had to act. Communication between inside and outside sales suffered because none of that information lived anywhere both teams could see, and the company had no way to connect its Sage ERP data to a sales tracking system in real time.
Solution
James brought in Salesforce as Allied's CRM and paired it with Commercient, which acts as the middleware syncing data automatically from Sage into Salesforce. Commercient pulls every quote from origination into Salesforce, currently six times a day and capable of running as fast as every two to five minutes, and automatically assigns it to the right sales rep. When a quote in Sage converts to a sales order, that status updates automatically in Salesforce as won or lost, and Commercient brings in purchase order, sales order, invoice, and customer data as well. It also syncs parts availability so the team can build quotes in Salesforce CPQ, with completed orders synced back to Sage.
Leveraging Commercient to synchronize data from our ERP automatically into Salesforce inherently and automatically assigns it to any sales rep that we have.
Results
The manual, spreadsheet-based quote tracking is gone, replaced by a fully automated flow between Sage and Salesforce. Outside sales reps can now pull up a customer on their phone before a visit and see a real-time view of every open quote and order instead of walking in without any account history. James uses the synced invoice data to audit commissions, reviewing any order over $10,000 against the rep's logged activity to confirm the visit happened. As Allied works back toward its pre-pandemic revenue levels, the team is already planning a third layer of the integration, bringing in GPS data from their nine-vehicle delivery fleet so dispatch can see pickups, deliveries, and truck locations on a live map.
The greatest thing about that is Commercient being that middleware, essentially, between Salesforce and our outside sales group. It takes the quote from origination and imports that information into Salesforce, and we're also syncing all of the customer information. So there's no more Excel spreadsheets, everything is automated.
