Commercient Helps UltraTech’s Sales Team Succeed

Oil spills can quickly grow into a tragedy if not contained early. Not only is it harmful to the environment, but it can hurt any number of animals and their entire ecosystem. So it’s important to have a company that is focused primarily on cleaning the damage from said oil spills. And as such bring about a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable world. It all started back in the 1980s when the founders of UltraTech International pioneered the field of spill containment products. Then in 1993, UltraTech was founded with one goal in mind, to create the world’s finest offering of spill containment and spill response products. They have a line of over 400 unique products with the express purpose of avoiding or cleaning up oil spills and anything related to it, along with stormwater management, facility protection, and more. 

With so many products, they need to be able to have a working system rather than just relying on a thousand different spreadsheets. The problem with that is that you can never reliably find the information. After all, how do you know which spreadsheet it’s in? Can you afford to waste the time to look for it with no guarantee you’ll even find it? 

That is why UltraTech modernized itself by going for Salesforce Enterprise. Salesforce Enterprise helps them more effectively manage their sales, leads, customers, and opportunities. 

“As we’ve grown, Salesforce has become the backbone of our company, and we’re more flexible and responsive,” said Luke Shaw, Salesforce Administrator, and IT Liaison at UltraTech International, “Sticking with spreadsheets and requesting reports is not part of our workflow.”

But they needed a way to get those products integrated from Sage 100 to Salesforce, along with other important data from their accounting system, especially their pricing information — a very important tool for the sales team at UltraTech. Enter Commercient.

Commercient helps with Containment 

Commercient SYNC is the #1 data integration software for sales, and its job is to connect the data from Sage 100 to Salesforce Enterprise.

“SYNC gives us visibility of invoices and sales orders in Salesforce, which is very important for us. Seeing when an order is open, what the expected ship date is,” said Shaw.

Because of Commercient, UltraTech can access the Sage100 data in Salesforce, things raging as customer information, invoicing, sales orders, quotes and opportunities, Price Codes, AP vendor, AP purchase orders, and much more.

“SYNC minimized the amount of duplication and repeated processes that we had to do to get a piece of data into one system,” said Luke Shaw. “The sales team now has all the important Sage 100 information that they need right in Salesforce.”

And like we previously mentioned, the pricing. Not having to manually add prices — and as such avoid the issues that could occur from manually adding important Price Codes — is quite the boon for UltraTech. 

“Our Price Codes are SYNC’d to Salesforce, giving our sales team up-to-date pricing, which is a big deal,” said Shaw. “Ensuring prices are updated in Salesforce is crucial.”
