Zoho customers and partners gathered in Mexico City in November 2022, and as Zoho Partner, Commercient had to be there, too! Our solutions engineer Rebeca Oliva assisted #ZoholicsMX2022 in Mexico City. She met many amazing people, made valuable #connections, and learned a lot about what’s new and coming for Zoho in 2023.

Zoholics is Zoho’s conference series, where they share product updates, educate customers, and announce game-changing new product releases. It also allows attendees to meet Zoho’s team face-to-face and learn directly from the staff behind their apps. Zoholics offers:

-Informative Product Briefings

-Personal 1-on-1 Sessions

-Networking & Fun

So we interviewed Rebeca Oliva about her experience at this event, and here’s what she has to say about Zoho and the integration apps Commercient develops to connect our client’s Zoho CRM with their ERP accounting system:

Why did Commercient attend Zoholics?

We are expanding our strategic partnership with Zoho LATAM, so when they invited us to Zoholics, we decided it was time to go. We also wanted more information about what’s new with Zoho and their plans for the future.

We wanted to connect with Zoho implementation partners and users from Mexico and Latin America. As part of the Commercient Sales team, the goal was to bring all the knowledge we could to use as a sales tool as part of our data integration services. For example, Zoho Analytics allows data analysis, showing data on reports and dashboards that as of now, come from different sources (both internal and external).

Any takeaways you’d like to share?

Many partners are committed to Zoho and looking for ways to enhance growth together.

Zoho’s interface is intuitive and robust, as it has access to more than 50 apps within the Zoho ecosystem.

The Zoho team was kind, friendly, and respectful. All attendants could see how passionate Zoho’s staff is regarding the solutions they provide for their clients and the plans ahead.

Many were pioneers when Zoho decided to break into the Latin American market.

We connected with Zoho partners in Mexico and other countries that may be interested in partnering with Commercient to offer an integration between Zoho and more than 110 ERPs.

There were in-person meetings with Commercient partners before the event.

We received the recommendation to integrate Aspel SAE and Contpaq in Mexico.

They also recommended working on an integration for Zoho Books Mexico, one of their newest products.

I met with the Zoho LATAM team and discussed how to strengthen our partnership in Mexico and Latin America to help more companies that need to connect Zoho CRM and the different apps in Zoho One.

We planned Business Development strategies to bring Zoho and Commercient SYNC in front of more potential customers in a more effective way.

As a company leveraging the newest and most functional tech trends, Commercient’s fast-track plan will SYNC data in a short amount of time and integrate transactions bi-directionally so that ERP and CRM are effectively connected. Commercient has also integrated VR technology to provide personalized, interactive support to enhance customer and partner experience.

About Commercient

Commercient is dedicated to helping growing companies integrate their ERP and CRM software with SYNC. We make hassle-free integrations for more than 110 ERPs and counting. Among the most recent integrations, SYNC connects NetSuite, SAP, Infor, Epicor, Sage ERP, QuickBooks, and more, adding more integrations consistently.

Dreamforce 2022 is now behind us, but the lessons learned will stay with us for a long time. What is Dreamforce? It is “an annual event that brings together the global Salesforce community for learning, fun, community building, and philanthropy. Trailblazers from all over the world gather to share their insights, successes, and learn the latest in industry innovations.” Meaning it’s about connection.

At Commercient, we know all about connection. That is what we do, by integrating Salesforce and ERP systems with SYNC, the #1 data integration platform for sales. Commercient Co-Founders Corrine Allgaier and Richard Jenkins had the pleasure of attending Dreamforce this year. The first live event since 2019.

Our team at Dreamforce

Amazing Trailblazers in the Spotlight

One of the focus points of this year’s Dreamforce is the spotlight on Trailblazers, who are pioneers in their field or endeavor. Someone that opens the door for all those that come behind them. Sima Samara was one such Trailblazer and a part of the keynote speech of Dreamforce 2022. A software engineer who after leaving her country focused on helping refugees.

“The story of Sima Samara, a refugee who moved to the Netherlands in the face of threatening oppression, who became a Trailblazer, and was now standing on stage during the keynote, will always be a striking memory from Dreamforce 2022,” remarked Allgaier.

“She reminded me of myself in some ways, although I never faced such hardship in the face of moving countries,” Allgaier continued, “but I understood her motivation and how she took the opportunity of Trailhead with both hands and held on.

“Sima’s story represents how I feel about Salesforce and this wonderful community of people who embrace diversity, who value innovation and creativity, and who believe in the infinite human potential,” concluded Allgaier.

Dreamforce and Connection

Adversity can help us grow but so can community. It is standing side by side that we can overcome our problems. Because no man is an island. We have to work together if we want to create a better world. And as Allgaier says, reach our infinite potential. Dreamforce gave Commercient the chance to connect with people who speak the same language and have the same goals.

“For me, Dreamforce was about connecting with people. We met with partners and customers, and we talked about everything from technology, to music and art and even vinyl records,” said Corinne Allgaier. “They were real conversations. I learned so much from others about the challenges they are facing, and about opportunities for our company of which I had not been aware. Dreamforce 2022 was epic.”

Among the highlights for Dreamforce 2022 was the big announcement of the Salesforce Genie. Genie spans across the entire Salesforce platform and offers real-time data to enhance the Customer 360.

Dreamforce 2022 gives back

Other new features include those for Slack, making it more business-friendly and helping companies boost their productivity. These include Slack Canvas, Slack Huddles and Slack for Developers.

There was also an announcement of the integration between Amazon SageMaker and Salesforce. And of course it’s not just about business. Dreamforce is dedicated to giving back. Which is why they hosted Dreamfest, the official celebration of Dreamforce with a concert by Red Hot Chili Peppers. All the proceeds of the event were donated to USCF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.

It was an experience like no other. One that allowed for learning, connection and most of all — a week of memories that will never be forgotten.

This year the team at Commercient had the pleasure of attending HubSpot Inbound 2022. What is this event? Inbound is an immersive and interactive experience uniting professionals with industry thought leaders, meaningful networking opportunities, and education sessions. It was an incredible experience where we could meet so many like-minded people and connect with business contacts. HubSpot provides leading B2B marketing automation and a CRM solution.

Commercient is the #1 data integration software for sales, and our mission is to help you grow sales by connecting data between your ERP and CRM systems. So we do love getting to meet our partners and being able to connect with them on a one-on-one basis. HubSpot Inbound gave us the opportunity to do just that. In Inbound you’re surrounded by people who speak your same language — the language of technology. It makes things simpler for us to connect.

By connecting with us we can help you help your business. In the words of Commercient’s Jackie Palma, “Inbound is a great place to learn from the best, network, meet partners, customers and make new friends. Overall It was an amazing experience. I think everyone in marketing, sales, and customer service should live!”

Thanks to Inbound we got the opportunity to connect with Commercient Partners like Pearagon’s Davey Warren and Square 2 Marketing’s Mike Lieberman

“Attending Inbound 2022 has been one of the most fulfilling experiences ever for getting inspired by one of the best CRM platforms in the world,” says Rebeca Oliva, Solution Engineer of the Sales team at Commercient. “Not only did we have the best time for networking as a Gold Solutions Partner with HubSpot teams, users, and agencies that service and manage clients using the platform. But we also were amazed to see how our integration proposal for syncing HubSpot with the main accounting systems resulted in captivating those who work on improving business efficiency.”

Inbound is about Connection

But Inbound doesn’t just allow us to connect to people but to learn from them as well. The conferences given were a magnificent experience. Listening to experts in the industry is one of the greatest joys of going to an event like Inbound.

“The authentic souvenir is the knowledge you get from all the speakers, conferences, meetups, and more,” said Palma.

Viola Davis, Jane Goodall and President Barack Obama on stage at Inbound 2022.

We learned about community and why it’s so important, frictionless selling and what we owe the creators of the future. We also got to experience wonderful conferences from incredible icons like Academy Award winner Viola Davis. Viola talked about the importance of being true to yourself and taking off your mask and finding people who see the real you.

Then we got to listen to Dr. Jane Goddall the difference between intellect and intelligence and the importance of animals. She reminded us that hope is about action not just wishful thinking. Finally we got to listen to President Barack Obama talk about the importance of diverse points of view. And learning that things are never as bad or as good as we think they are which is pivotal to crisis management.

All in all it was a wonderful experience that we look forward to repeating. Everyone should get a chance to go to Inbound, it’s truly the place to be.

Since they are certified in Salesforce implementations and consulting, we believe integrations with Salesforce will be seamless and bring great success.”

Now, you may be wondering, why should we become a customer of App Solve or Commercient?

Customers choose App Solve because customer service teams struggled to maintain customers relationships by not having a proper CRM and capturing the right data. App Solve resolves this by helping their clients to become their own manager of  Salesforce features, tools, and automation that was not previously available to maintain relationships and to use data efficiently.

Well, Commercient will ensure your synchronization is done within a few short weeks instead of months of work. Using Salesforce to integrate data from your ERP system streamlines tasks like creating sales reports, sending order status updates, and keeping track of ERP financial records, among other things. The best aspect is that it can all be done in the cloud.

A global company, full of capable team members is one of Commercient’s greatest assets. People that are great at what they do, willing to improve their skill sets in order to provide best-in-class service to our customers and partners. Now, two of them have received the AWS Certification.

After weeks of hard work preparing for the exam, Sergio Cabrales and Alan Valdez, both Level 1 Support (Application Team of Commercient), completed this process successfully and are proud owners of the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification.

They had one month to prepare for the exam which resulted in them being extremely dedicated during the week and on weekends.

They stated the following on how it will benefit Commercient:

“I hope that this certification helps me have a deeper understanding of the configuration of our customers so that I could provide them with better troubleshooting and advice whenever needed”, explained Sergio Cabrales

Alan Valdez said: “This clearly proves that as time passes on, Commercient gets more and more people certified in different skills which brings way more value to the company in any way one could think of.”

About AWS

AWS stands for Amazon Web Services, which is known to be a cloud-based platform that offers 175 services ranging from analytics, application integration, AR & VR, AWS Cost Management, Blockchain, Customer Engagement, Machine Learning, Developer Tools, Security, Networking, IoT, and the list goes on.

Part of these functionalities is that there are so many, that an application can be designed with the right tools for the specific job you require and it offers data to be moved to the cloud through cost-effective, fast and easier measures. Not only that, but AWS is one of the most secure cloud databases as it even satisfies the military, banks and other industries managing sensitive information.

AWS Certifications

Even though AWS is offered as a product to many customers, it also offers various certifications such as:

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner  – Foundational
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional

Sergio and Alan  took this great challenge by excelling in the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certificate. This course focuses on:

  • Designing systems with AWS tools
  • Data Security
  • Troubleshooting
  • Implementation

And this is what our team members had to say about it:

“I think getting this AWS certification is certainly a big accomplishment for my career. I had experience working with AWS before, and this exam required a deep knowledge of cloud computing. This has greatly helped me understand how cloud computing works and all of the components needed to make a business application successful said Sergio Cabrales.”

“I prepared for this exam by reviewing online studying materials and also doing some hands-on practice in the AWS console directly. Balancing the workload at the job and the study time was quite challenging, but I am glad I got a positive result,” explained Cabrales.

Alan Valdez shared this about the preparation process: “When I got the assignment of passing the AWS Solutions Architect Certification, I definitely took it as a challenge to test my capabilities as we only had around a month to go before test day would arrive and I wanted to contribute to this to the best of my ability for Commercient.”

“Then came the course to get prepared for the AWS Solutions Architect Certification actual test. This was more of practicing within the console of AWS and covered a lot of material than what was actually in the real exam and previous dump exams, that I had taken prior to the real one”, said Valdez.

How do you expect to help Commercient customers with this certification?

“I hope that this certification helps me have a deeper understanding of the configuration of our customers so that I could provide them with better troubleshooting and advice whenever needed”, said Sergio Cabrales.

Alan Valdez added: “I believe this certification will truly help Commercient and our customers not only because of the Certification itself, for partner wise purposes and related topics. This clearly proves that as time passes on, Commercient gets more and more people certified in different skills which brings way more value to the company in any way one could think of. This was my joyful experience in taking this examination and being able to pass on the first attempt.”

Here are some tips if you feel like getting an AWS Certification is the next step in your career.

Tips To Get The AWS certificate

How do we know which AWS certificate is best suited to us? What is a certificate? Why do we need certificates? These are all common questions that are normally asked amongst ourselves. But they are highly recommended and the following are one of many benefits:

  • They are proof of hard work and knowledge
  • They are valuable
  • They open doors to many opportunities
  • We can gain skills and make ourselves more profitable

With the types of AWS certificates such as,

  • AWS Foundational Level Certifications: This is based on foundational cloud concepts but nothing on implementation.
  • AWS Associate Level Certifications: This has to do with working in the cloud and has to do with more hands-on implementations.
  • AWS Professional Level Certifications: You are already experienced in AWS and have passed the AWS associate-level certifications.
  • AWS Specialty Certifications: You are highly experienced in AWS and it is focused on narrow areas – networking, data, and security. Many years of experience are needed for this.

If the AWS certificate is what you are looking for, here are the steps to sign up and begin!

  1. You will need to sign up for an AWS training class
  2. Look over any exam or study guides to start preparing
  3. Take on all AWS whitepapers as you may find many answers in there to your questions
  4. Make sure to practice over past exam papers to gain an insight into what it will feel like to write the exam
  5. Depending on the certification, make sure you spend at least 80-120 hours practicing and studying before the exam. Once you feel ready, schedule the exam.

In 2020 Commercient plans to continue with the rapid expansion and moving on to bigger and better things. Here is a small taste of what’s to come.

Artificial Intelligence

In 2020 Commercient will be extending the use of Artificial Intelligence not to only streamline SYNC processes such as data deduplication but also to drive the creation of an AI Sync engine that will autonomously build integration between products based on learned connections. Armed with an Oculus headsets and our virtual reality platforms, Commercient’s foray into 4th generation technology is what keeps Richard Jenkins, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, motivated and excited to begin each day. His vision and enthusiasm motivates each person at Commercient to be a technologist.

The AI initiative includes:

  • Guided Commercient Sync implementation in virtual reality using Amazon Sumerian
  • Speech interaction during the Commercient Sync implementation using Amazon Lexbot in conjunction with Sumerian.
  • Humanlike speech generated using Amazon Polly for combinations of 5 CRMs, and 85 ERPs in 5 languages to be used in conjunction with Sumerian and Lexbot.

“2019 is the awakening of AI in integration. 2020 is the year AI begins to influence integration projects in order to achieve the largest cost savings and Commercient will pass those cost savings on to the customers.” – Richard Jenkins CFO at Commercient.

More Apps & Exclusive Offers

We will be producing more apps for Salesforce, Microsoft, Zoho, Sugar, Mulesoft, and HubSpot.

A SAPB1 app will become available in the Microsoft Appsource. Exact Online will be available soon in the Zoho Marketplace.  Also next year we will have an exclusive offering for Salesforce Manufacturing Cloud. The Manufacturing Cloud is a specific Salesforce CRM created for manufacturers. It allows manufacturers to combine sales and operations, consolidate account planning and forecasts, and deliver greater business clarity.

In February and March, Commercient will be speaking at Salesforce’s offices in Chicago and Colarado.

Commercient’s Integration With HubSpot

We announced our partnership with HubSpot in late 2019. In 2020 our integration with HubSpot will continue to grow. Watch the space as we plan on connecting multiple ERPs with HubSpot.

With Commercient SYNC, the #1 data integration platform for sales, you can now integrate HubSpot CRM with Sage or QuickBooks to help enhance your sales, marketing, and customer service. Integrating HubSpot CRM with Sage or QuickBooks desktop is a powerful way to streamline daily processes and save valuable time and resources throughout your organization.

Commercient’s SYNC makes it possible for you to see your QuickBooks or Sage data in HubSpot CRM. The data integration app keeps you up-to-date with changes made in QuickBooks or Sage ERP and HubSpot CRM system simultaneously.

Continued Charity

In 2020 Commercient will continue with the pledge 1% promise and continue with the contributions to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). We are also working on even further eliminating our carbon footprint as a company, and lastly but most importantly maintaining our company culture as the company continues its rapid growth.

In 2020 our customers will remain at the heart of Commercient. Our renewed efforts to deliver exemplary service will drive the customer experience in 2020. Management has worked tirelessly to deliver state of the art project dashboards, streamlined onboarding, and implementation, as well as support that is global and fast. The goal is to keep making Sync implementations faster, simpler and even more responsive.

On this note, Commercient wishes our customers, our staff and our partners a healthy, prosperous new year filled with joy.

2019 is quickly drawing to a close. Let’s take the time to reflect on the year gone by with Commercient. Our company grew rapidly this year not only increasing our customer base but also our worldwide team. We hire talent from all over the world expanding our sales, support, IT and marketing teams.

This year we’ve grown our partner channel by adding two major tech companies Intuit and HubSpot  in addition to the well over 80 Salesforce and Microsoft Consulting practices that also joined our partner network. If you would like to partner with us, please contact us.  In 2019 we launched two significant CRM exchanges, Zoho Marketplace and Sugar exchange. We also added 10 new Salesforce apps to our existing 16.

In terms of technology, this year saw Commercient being awarded an Innovation Credit by Amazon Web Services. The Innovation Credit was used to roll out an AI-enhanced Commercient SYNC. This will deploy 4th generation technology to achieve more rapid implementations, enhanced customer experience, global market reach, and the ability to onboard many more customers faster.

We deployed a new AI program for data matching and deduplication, which is incredibly powerful, and therefore power-hungry. We required GPU cores to handle the millions of parallel operations needed to deliver intelligent decisions on how to match customers and products between systems. This process would have taken hours on traditional computers and servers, and add into that the human verification process.  The net result is that we can automate matching and deduplication of data in seconds instead of weeks, which is a huge help for new customers with disparate data between ERP and CRM systems.

On June 24, 2019 Commercient, won the Salesforce AppExchange Demo by popular vote! The 3-minute demo focused on SYNC, and was performed by Ken deLodzia, Commercient’s Senior Solutions Engineer. The AppExchange Demo Jam is a game show-style event where up to 8 Salesforce app partners perform a fast, 3-minute demo of their app. Attendees watching the demos vote for their favorite.

“The valuable data you guys are able to SYNC over is fantastic. Not only do you have the bi-directional SYNC going on, which is configurable as a one-way or two-way SYNC, but you are able to pull that data in a way that a customer service rep or a support rep is able to access, and utilize. Not only for the entitlement side, or the, ‘Hey, I need to get you a replacement order.’ You can see the order information from whatever ERP system you’re pulling from. Fantastic, very simple to use!”- Jeff Grosse, Salesforce MVP, and Demo Jam moderator.

Commercient was in attendance of multiple industry-leading conferences all over the world including Salesforce World Tour London, SYSPRO Wave, and Dreamforce.

Salesforce held its annual Dreamforce convention on November 19-22, 2019 in San Francisco. Our founders, Richard Jenkins, John Angove, and Corinne Allgaier as well as our Head of Partnerships Noah Thomas and Paul Barry, Senior Solutions Engineer were all in attendance. Over the four days, our team met with 18 potential customers, partners and loyal clients.

“Our customers love that we proactively monitor the synchronization” – John Angove CFO

As we prepare to close 2019, we reflect on Commercient’s place in the world as a global corporate citizen. At Commercient, with a global work staff, we believe in the ability of corporations to act as a platform for change, and we consider our collective roles as guardians of world climate health to be both urgent and critical.

On a very practical basis, the urgency of the issue was brought home to us when Commercient CFOs were in Europe for a conference in July and were subjected to the intense heat waves across France, The Netherlands, and England. John Angove, Co-Founder, and his family were among those that became stuck on a train from Paris to Amsterdam. The railway lines were buckling, temperatures inside the carriage became intolerable and people were panicked.

It is in this context that as individuals and as a corporation we strove in 2019 to make real and impactful contributions to conservation and climate efforts. In 2019 Commercient spread the joy by making contributions to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) when our customers gave us commendations. We participated in beach clean-ups, electronics recycling, climate protests,  and WWF campaigns. We got involved; our children got involved.

We’re thankful for all the opportunities we received in 2019 and all of the companies we managed to help with our SYNC solution. Don’t worry, it’s not too late to contact us if you are still looking for a data integration solution for 2019.
